What is Huawei Unlock?

- Huawei Unlocking is a technique that makes your USB Modem available for all network providers. In the Philippines, some Huawei Modems may include Globe Tattoo, and such. If you buy a Globe Tattoo Modem, you may not be able to insert other SIM Cards!

For Filipinos: Unlocking is similar to openline.

Why do I want to unlock?

- You must unlock your modems so you can have the fullest capabilities of your modem. For instance, if you want to switch networks, It is possible; not just sticking to one Network.

- Sometimes, the network you are in today can be very slow. So, If you want to switch to another network (ex. Globe is Slow, gotta try Smart), you won't need to use another USB Modem!

Advantages:
- You can switch SIM's
- No need to buy separate Globe and Smart USB Modems.

Disadvantages:
- None.

Then enter the IMEI of your modem (can be found on the rear side,on the dashboard menu and/or on the unit box.).

I got the Unlock Code, how can I apply it?
- Just put another Network Provider's SIM card (e.g. If you have a Globe Tattoo, just input a Regular Smart SIM card) and a Dialog Box will appear, asking for the Unlock Code. Simply copy-paste it in (or type it) and bam!

Basic Instructions

Note: Before you proceed, make sure that the drivers for your device were properly installed.

1. Download DCCrap (cracked) and extract

2. For correct ZTE modem detection, please plug modem with invalid operator SIM inserted.

Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.

3. Run dccrap.exe

4. In Select Manufacturer drop-down list, choose ZTE Datacards then click on Detect Card

5. Once detected, press Unlock in Unlock tab. (Check my screenshot below)

Why Upgrade Your Globe Tattoo?

Firmware is what keeps the Globe Tattoo stick running, and what helps the computer recognize the device. Your Globe Tattoo already comes with firmware pre-installed on it, but the existing firmware on your device does not allow you to make calls or send SMS. The upgrade process replaces the existing firmware in the USB device with a new one that allows you to call and send texts. The upgrade process includes the dashboard, and enables you to call and text through the Tattoo dashboard.

What You Need?
To upgrade your Globe Tattoo USB stick, you need the following:

The Globe Tattoo stick

The new firmware .EXE file, which you can download from the links below

A Windows-based computer (Vista has some problems with reliability and stability, so it is best to use Windows XP)

Download Firmware
To upgrade your Globe Tattoo Stick, select your model from the list below:

1.Huawei E153
2.Huawei E158
3.Huawei E1552
4.Huawei E1605.Huawei E160E
6.Huawei E220 (For MAC users)

Insert USB Stick to computer and wait for the device to be detected

REMINDER

· Use Windows XP OS when Performing an upgrade

· Be sure that the power supply of the laptop is enough for the upgrade

· Be sure of taking out the SIM from USB Modem for safety

· Be sure to check the device manager if all of the components are detected

· To check the device manager, right click on My Computer >
click Properties > click the Hardware Tab > click Device Manager then look for
the modem & port

Download the software (zipped file) from the website and save it to a folder in your PC.

Double-click the file below to unzip it.

Note:
Before you start upgrading, be sure to terminate connection of your Tattoo and close the application window

The zipped file extracts to two files. Double-click first the firmware upgrade file

(encircled) to run the firmware wizard.

Accept the agreement (this process will upgrade your USB stick's firmware)
and click "Next"

Click "Next"

Click "Start"

Go back to the extracted files, this time double-click the software upgrade file
to run the software wizard.

Accept the agreement and click on "Next"

Click "Next" then "Start"

Re-install the dashboard software:

Go to My Computer and click the Globe Broadband logo to re-install

Click "Yes" when asked if you want to re-install because the application already exists

The uninstall wizard appears and will guide you through the process

Lastly, another wizard will appear which will guide you to install the new

application software with the PC Voice function.
